We, the family of Mike Lambrix,
would like to respectfully ask the Governor of Florida, Rick Scott to grant an exceptional clemency hearing for Michael Lambrix.
We know that our plea was rejected last year. However, we would like to ask again. We hope our plea can be heard: Please suspend his current imminent execution and hear our plea in person. Please grant a chance to Michael to express himself in person. His last clemency hearing was over thirty years ago. He never had a chance to be heard in person.
Mike Lambrix will be part of an exhibition at the worldwide renowned Centre for Nobel Peace in Norway. The title of the exhibition is “Noble is Man”. Mike was selected for this exhibition, and there is a good reason for that: Mike Lambrix has elevated himself over his thirty years on death row to become a noble man who shows there is hope in humanity. We are proud of him.
Not all the people are noble or perfect. For example, it is an established fact that Judge Stanley, who was assigned to hear Mike’s trial was biased in death penalty cases; he said that if he were allowed, right after he’d pronounce the sentence, he’d reach down by his left leg, come up with his pistol and shoot himself the defendant “right between the eyes”. This is what led a sentence be overturned in the case of Raleigh Porter.
Equally four jurors were related to the local sheriff's department at Mike’s trial; One of the jurors was the stepfather of the local sheriff's deputy who at that time was under FBI investigation for physically assaulting Mike Lambrix in the county jail several months earlier.
All these issues, and others, were procedurally barred in the appeal process.
We hope that the Governor, who is the ultimate decision maker in our state, will be also a noble man, just like Mike is in our eyes and recognize that all men, even judges, can be imperfect. Thus, we hope that he grants Mike Lambrix an exceptional clemency hearing. In return, Mike will help others. He has already earned his place in society.
Blessed is the fruit of the womb Jesus (…) Glory be to thy Father, and to the son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning, is now, and never shall be, world without end. Amen.
Thank you.
