US SUP. COURT HANDS IN "MAJOR VICTORY" IN BID FOR NEW TRIAL Rogers LaCaze (Louisiana) was sentenced to death along a police officer for the triple murder in a restaurant in Louisiana. His sentence was recently commuted to life. However, the US Supreme Court has now also vacated a state Supreme Court decision that upheld LaCaze's conviction on three counts of first-degree murder.
